12/31/2015

Hello the Naked 3 Palette. I have been waiting to get my hands on a good quality eyeshadow palette and I was lucky enough to receive this off my wonderful partner. When I was doing my research, comparing the different Naked Palettes, my decision to favour this palette was simply over the fact that I favourited the most amount of shades in this compared to the Naked original and Naked 2 Palette. I had a moment in time looking into the Naked Basics Palettes, but I wanted to be able to create new looks using the shimmery options you receive in this Palette. So decided that Naked 3 Palette was the one for me.

This Palette is complete with 12 different shades, ranging from base shades through to bold shimmery shades. Compared to the other palette the 3 palette has been a new founder of rose coloured shades but still combining this with your deeper smokey eye looks.

The quality of each individual shade are like velvet and this makes the shadow blend smoothly. From experience of using this palette nearly everyday, the shadow stays put all day and the colour pigment stay bright throughout the day, especially when using the shimmery shades.

Each palette comes with a very usable double ended eyeshadow brush/blending brush. The quality of this brush amazed me. I was very happy that I will not have to go out and purchase a blending brush, this one does the job very well. You can feel secure that you are guaranteed to have a flawless finish overtime.

I would definitely recommend this palette and I hope Urban Decay carry on making these so we can enjoy more new shades!

My Favourite Beauty Products of 2015

12/16/2015

Hi Guys, today I thought I would put together a post that showed you the priciest I have been loving and using the most through the year 2015. Some of these products I have used for a few years but still thought I'd feature them as I 100% would recommend them!

So here is a run down of my favourite products.

Best Perfumes: Get yourself smelling as fresh as a daisy with Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream. This perfume is a combination of floral and fruity. It has a very delicate but rich fragrance with an essence of grapefruit and jasmine. What I like is that one spray goes the whole day.

Or you can go for a more exotic smell with the DKNY Be Delicious Eau de Parfum. I got this last year and have re-bought it twice since. If you are a fan of an apple essence you'll adore this. So fresh and fruity with hints of cucumber, still having that pretty smell with dashes of rose and magnolia. Definitely one you have to try!

Best Lipstick: I think I must of bought the Mac Honey Love lipstick about 20 million times this year. At first when I purchased it I wasn't really sure about it but now I struggle to wanna wear anything else. It also works lush as a pair with lip liner spice. Definitely that perfect nude.

Best Under Eye Products: I have recently just picked up my 2nd Prep and Prime Highlighter Pen. This is definitely up there with my favourite purchases. It just leaves such a beautiful, bright underage without getting into creases. I use the colour light boost, this brings such a light, sheer wash of colour to my make up looks and lasts all day. It's not cakey and blends in perfectly to all my face products. It is also the perfect touch up for anything you want to hide.

My second favourite eye product is the Simple Kind to Eyes Soothing Eye Balm. I never used to believe that under eye creams did anything, especially as I was already using moisturiser under my eyes I didn't wanna pack on anything unnecessary. I love the Simple brand and they also product products that are extra kind to the skin and leave such a noticeable difference. I use this before I go to bed at night and I can feel the balm tightening the skin straight after putting it on. It reduces the puffiness and the dark under eye circles and a plus is that it is perfect for sensitive skin, especially as that under eye area is so delicate. I wouldn't use any other eye balm and have been using this religiously every night.

Favourite Nails: YAY, I bought my first O.P.I nail polish a few months ago and I definitely adore this brand already. As I work in a hospital I never can paint my nails or get them done but I still can pay attention to my toes! On my days off if I'm going out or have plans I tend to rely on stick on acrylics. I have recently just been getting bare ones so I can use this gorgeous colour. It's called 'Do you take lei away' and its a nice nude/stone colour. Glides on beautifully and dries immediately. I will definitely be purchasing more of the O.P.I colours for the future.

Best Lashes: I literally rely on this lashes on a day to day basis. I never wear any others, unless I want a more dramatic look. These are the Eyelure #143. These are from the exaggerate range and are double layered, wispy lashes...PERFECT, right?! They are the perfect blend of lashes and are perfect for an everyday subtle look. These last me loads of wears when cleaned properly. I tend to not apply mascara to my false lashes as I find it shortens their life and makes them look clogged up. I will be re-purchasing these lashes for years to come!

http://www.boots.com/en/Eylure-Exaggerate-143-Lashes_1457834/ (unfortunately sold out at the minute but keep looking!)

Best Foundation: I started off wearing Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation a few years ago. I did go through a stage of trying loads of the different popular foundations. However the last year I went back to the double wear and I thoroughly believe that I will never change from this foundation unless it was discontinued (TOUCH WOOD). This foundation honestly is my holy grail. I love how a tiny bit goes a long way. It is medium to full coverage but I'd say it was a definite full coverage. This foundation does what it says and does last 15 hours. I'd say even more than 15 hours! It clings to the skin and stays flawless all day without clinging to the dry patches. It blends so well with concealers and contour powders. It has SPF 10 and 100% stays fresh through the hottest of heats and if your a make up wearer in the gym this will be your best friend. I wear colour Honey Bronze.

Favourite Hair Mask: I love to use a hair mask as I wear a full head of hair extensions most of the time and I feel like this is a step in my shower routine that refreshes and brings my natural hair back to life. I also use this on my hair extensions from time to time and it works a treat. This particular hair mask I have been loving is the Nicky Clarke Deep Treat Moisture Lock Mask. This mask has kerastrength and consists of patchouli oil and macadamia. This is perfect for people with dry or coarse hair, I don't but I wanted a really deep condition. I honestly never have felt my hair feel like how this mask makes it feel in  my life. I was drying my hair after removing the mask and it was so silky and shiny and felt like I'd just walked out of the hairdressers. It blends sufficiently into your hair and you leave it for 15 minutes before rinsing it out. I do this at least once a week to provide my hair with the nourishment it needs.

Favourite Brush: I have been using this brush the whole year mainly as my bronzer brush as I don't tend to wear powder over the top of my makeup. The Real Techniques Powder Brush I feel is the perfect shape and sculpted brush to do the job properly. Its a very good blending brush and evenings out my make up flawlessly. Definitely recommend this to be part of your brush collection.

I hope that you have enjoyed viewing my favourite products of the year. I hope to be lucky enough to try some more amazing products before the year ends! Let me know what your favourite products of the year are.

Photo-ready Makeup: 5 of the best anti-shine products for oily skin

12/10/2015

Forehead glare, shiny nose, we've probably all been there. Unfortunately it happens to us at the times we don't want it to right? For example, you're out its all hot and sweaty, you have that pic at the club with your mates and you see it the next morning...WHY MY FACE SO SHINY?! Unlucky for us, when your in a hot environment your skin produces oils to protect it from the environment around it. Before you know it it's straight to the nearest toilet to pack on the powder...but we don't like this powdering look right?

I, myself use to suffer from having those problem area, e.g. my forehead and top of my nose which use to get quite oily throughout the day. I hate powder foundations & translucent powders, as i prefer more of the dewy make up finish. But I didn't wanna look oily. I never used to wear primers because I didn't believe that they did anything or lengthen the time of my foundation wear. I had a change of mind a few months back and decided to start trying some primers and alternative products that decreased the shine to my face.

These 5 products are tried and tested and are ones that I LOVE that I want to share.

1.  No7 Stay Perfect Shine Free Primer.

This is an oil free, non pore blocking primer that sits flawlessly on the skin. It prepares your skin for make up applications giving it a longer lasting finish, locking in the make up. This product helps to block the shine and protect the pores. I used this products everyday for a week wearing Estee lauder double wear foundation. As this foundation has a long time wearing period anyway this helped to keep the foundation looking as fresh as it was when I first put it on.

2. L'Oreal Paris Infallible Matte Foundation.

This foundation literally does what it says on the tube. At £7.99 it is a bargain buy and provides you with 24 hour wear. NOT that I am every going to be wearing it for that long! This foundation has a waterproof formula, which provides you with a non-cakey finish. This foundation definitely stamps out all element of shine. When wearing this foundation I recommend still wearing a highlighter to give you that natural, healthy glow.

3. Urban Decay De Slick Makeup Setting Spray.

Wherever I'm going on a daily basis I have to finish off my make up with a setting spray to give me that peace of mind that my make up is all blended and going to stay like that. This setting spray is one that'll leave you that dewy, fresh faced look without looking to shiny a definite for a night out. The formula is like a strong hairspray to the face like old times. You can definitely rely on one spray in the morning lasting you all day.

4. Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder.

For those people, like me, who don't like putting powder on top of their foundation. This product will make you change your mind, but only for this setting powder. It's so lightweight and sheer it doesn't even feel or look like you've put on any powder. It's so silky and reading the ingredients you can see why. This product contains the finest french cashmere talc which includes a radiant,light-reflecting formula. This product is completely oil free and can be used on your t-zone or all over your face to finish your look. It lasts all day and trust me, your make up doesn't budge and you look so airbrushed and flawless which is such a positive and wins over looking cakey and powdery!

5. Nyx Matte Bronzer.

This bronzer is perfect for all year round, not just the summer. It is very subtle with no shimmer to complete your matte look. It glides on flawlessly over foundation and powder and doesn't move around your face at all. It's perfect for that desired glow without looking to over the top. Finding the Best Self Tanner

11/21/2015

There's nothing better than keeping your golden glow in these winter days. To keep your glow going the best you can for as long as you can it helps to find a self tanner that works for your skin type and your skin tone. Trust me there is definitely one for every type with so many brands that have proven to get good reviews.

I've been wearing fake tan for many years and I would say that I struggle to stick to one and I'm yet to find one that I absolutely love. The three that I have pictured above are the 3 different types of tanners that work for me. Occasionally I go to get spray tans but this is only when I have an event to go to or I'm being lazy and I can't be bothered to do it myself!

The three main types I use are a mist, a gradual tanner and my main tanner I use is a lotion. I have recently been loving the Bondi Sands range. I got the lotion in 'dark' but the medium gives a nice colour too. This has a really easy and simple application. Compared to other lotion tanners this tanner glides on so smooth giving a really blend-able coverage. When left for a few hours and washed off this gives you a nice colour gradually after 4-6 hours that lasts for about 4-7 days. This tan comes off quite nice for me without being too patchy. Definitely one I will be re-buying, but would love to try more of the range.

I between ex-foliating my whole tan off and re-applying a new coat, I like to use a gradual tanner. The gradual tanner that I have been liking is from the Cocoa Brown Gentle Bronze Gradual Tanner. I also love using the Dove Nourishing Summer Glow Body Lotion, this is an amazing gradual tanner that doesn't make you go to dark but gives you that subtle glow. I tend to use a gradual tanner before I go to bed and these lotions are a white/light brown cream that tend to not be slimy and dry quickly.

The instant self tanning mist by St Moritz is the best spray that I've tried so far. I tend to use this as just a quick top up after a shower in between tanning. This spray goes on so easy and then rubbed in with a mitt after, it gives a lovely deep glow. This is definitely my quick fix before I go out. It's so quick and easy to use. This is definitely best suited for people with naturally smooth skin and a confident fake tanner. One tip is to hold the spray can upside down to reach those tricky bits.

For all these tanners you need to ex-foliate your dry areas if you want a nice easy.  application. Making sure you start with a small amount of product and build it up remembering that it does develop over the hours and gets darker. When washing your tan off don't use an exfoliate or rub your skin, just let the water run over your body to take that top layer of tan off. Hope my routine is helpful for new tanners or people wanting a new routine.

Happy tanning!

Outfit of The Day - Smart but Casual

11/12/2015
Hi Guys,
So I'm here again with another outfit of the day post. My aim for these posts is to put outfits together that are wearable, affordable and casual for everyday wear. I feel like there's not enough inspiration for these type of looks. So here I have my version of smart casual. I think this outfit is something you could wear to the shops or dress it up with heels and a clutch and its a nice evening wear outfit. Very plain, very simple and easy colours to match accessories with.
So, where's everything from? I'm sure this is the main thing readers want to know. Everything from head to toe is listed down below.
White sleeveless blazer - Mine is actually from the F&F range, they don't sell the longline sleeveless blazker anymore but they here is the same blazer just a shorter version. http://www.clothingattesco.com/f+f/f+f-tailored-waistcoat/invt/br521381
There's so many options of footwear for this look. For the picture I wore it with some nude heels from river island (http://www.riverisland.com/women/shoes--boots/court-shoes/nude-pink-patent-leather-court-shoes-671141) you can wear pumps, even converse, anything that's comfortable and goes with the look you want.
What's your favourite outfit for the autumn?

Whats In My Handbag?

11/08/2015

I do have a slight obsession with watching 'What's in my bag' videos on You Tube, so today I thought I'd do a blog post on what's in my handbag on a day to day basis. I am a very minimalistic person, I like there to be minimal amount of things I need in my bag, especially if I'm lunging it around all day.
First things first lets start with my actual handbag. At the minute I have a bag from River Island that I received as a gift for my 21st birthday. I had my eye on it for months and was hinting, really obviously about it. So you can imagine how happy I was to receive it. This bag retailed at £50 and I've had it for a few months and I'd say its still in really good condition. It's a plain black material with metal gold detail and a furry pompom, this bag actually comes with a white pompom but this one I bought was still from river island. Inside there is one inside pocket that zips up. The handbag, I would say, is a relatively good size for a everyday handbag, depending on what you are carrying.

My favourite part of this bag is that it has a front flap that has 2 compartments in it. I like to keep my make up brushes that I use to top up in here. The amazing thing about this section, that I only just recently found after having this bag for 3 months, is that it comes out and you can use it as a clutch! How amazing!

Now onto the contents of my handbag. As I said I like to have the absolute minimum that I have to in my bag, as the bag itself is quite heavy as it is. So I just carry what I think are my essentials. So as you can see in the picture above this is just my make up bag, my purse, an umbrella, my contour kit, compact mirror, my hairbrush & a bronzer + lip balm and my mac fix plus spray.
First things first, my purse. I also received this as a present for my birthday from my brother. I absolutely adore this purse. I love the colours of the nude and black together with the gold embellished brand name on the front. I love Fiorelli stuff, it's always so elegant and chic. As you can probably guess my purse is a never ending book of receipts. No matter how much I empty it the next day it'll be full again...you girls get the struggle, right? I try my best to keep on top of it. But, 100% my purse is definitely my must have in my handbag. It includes all my cards that I have, like my Superdrug card, Debenhams beauty card, Boots advantage card, you know the drill got to collect the points to get good make up! I never carry money so I always have to rely on carrying my purse for my card.

I always carry my Mac Prep + Prime Fix + with me everywhere. You never know when you need that extra boost of hydration. As I work 12.5 hour shifts, this product, along with my Body Shop raspberry lip balm are definitely my holy grail items in my handbag. I find the mac fix + is so easy just to spray on giving you that hydrated, dewy glow and keep my make up going through out the day. As I work in a negative pressure ward it gets so dry at work and my lips get chapped so easy. These lip balm from body shop are so gorgeous and smell beautiful. My favourite is the raspberry one. It has a slight pigment keeping your lips looking full of life and fresh. So these 2 products are definitely very important for me to carry around. The fix + isn't the smallest so I have to make room for this one!

Last but definitely not least I have my make up bag and brushes. I try and keep my make up bag full with the products I actually use on a day to day basis, this proves very hard. There's always more in there than I need. But however, in this picture I am showing you the products that I use to top up mainly on a day to day basis. For foundation I use the Estee Lauder double wear foundation. This is definitely the foundation I am loving, it stays on from when I put it on for work at 5am throughout the day to when I get home at 9pm! Definitely a true Estee Lauder girl, after trying many foundations too. On top of my foundation I have recently been loving the LA girl pro conceal. This gives amazing courage at a really good price. I also love the Maybelline age rewind concealer. For highlighter I love the Mary Lou Manizer by The Balm definitely a stand out highlighter. To make sure everything stays on perfectly all day I rely on the infallible mattifying primer which I love such a silky, velvet primer. For lips I love my mac velvet teddy and honey love combo, but honestly I don't wear this everyday. My everyday lip combo definitely goes to Rimmel Kate Moss collection in numbers 43, when I want that shimmery nude and 42 when I want more of a pinky nude. This is in a combo with the 2 lip liners in the pic above. Finally for brushes, I carry these 4 from left to right I have my contour brush from real techniques, highlight brush, powder brush and a blending brush. I simply carry these cause after such a long day at work I definitely have to fix up.
What do you carry in your handbag? Do we have any of the same products? What handbags do you girls have that you think I'd like?

Prepping your skin for autumn/winter

11/05/2015

I can't believe summer has disappeared already, where did it go? The last few days I've definitely been browsing the internet trying to find some warmer clothes to start snuggling into on those cold winter nights. Personally the colder weather is my favourite. It's a good excuse to buy a gorgeous statement coat, some pretty warm jumpers and can't forget some beautiful leather boots.

However with the massive, sudden change in weather that the UK had, there comes a change in my skin care routine for morning and night. Because of the change to the colder and windier weather our skin mixes up a bit and this weather can change our skin; its texture, dryness & overall feel, for most people this is definitely a change we don't want to have. From previous winter experiences my skin definitely gets dryer in the certain areas that get colder. It's definitely duller and my skin feels weaker than it does in the summer months where it feels like its more moisturised and fuller.

Therefore, I feel like a skincare update is definitely due. So I can fill you in with the certain products that I introduce as extras into my skin care routine. Some of these products are in the same categories as the ones I already use, e.g. skin care for my pores & spot control. However these products I introduce into my winter skin care routine are slightly stronger and provide me with more 'care' than usual.

5 Steps to clean, tone, refresh and moisturise your skin to prepare for those dry winter skin months.
1. I always start any skin care routine making sure that any make up that is on my face is completely cleared off my skin so I can start with a fresh base to replenish. I know 9 times out of 10 when your tired after a long day you just want to grab a make up wipe and give it a rough once over just so you can get to sleep...ME 24/7. But to bribe me into not doing this I have become a huge fan of micellar water. My favourite at the minute and will be for a long while is the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, with this product it dissolves all your make up off your face in a few wipes, cleanses the face and sooths out your skin, leaving a very silky finish. I use this product on a plain cotton pad and swipe it around my face without having to rub and leave redness on the skin.
2. To then wash out my face and give it the pampering it needs, I firstly wash my pores away by using Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser, for me this cleanser has a really deep, thorough clean without being rough on the skin. When used with my Olay Pro-X Brush which I have mentioned in previous posts as I can't live without it, the cleanser turns into foam when put on a wet face to purify and remove trapped dirt. After using this product my skin definitely feels tighter and extremely smooth.
3.  A definitely extra that I then add to my skin care routine is a face wash that adds radiance and moisture to my face whilst tackling any possible breakouts the dry weather might give me. For this I have found that the Clearasil Daily Clear Hydra-Blast Gel Wash. I definitely prefer using gel washes rather than cream washes as I feel like it gives your skin that extra plump effect and hydrates my skin to its fullest. This product contains Aloe Vera and cucumber extracts which help not to over dry the skin when being used. I apply this to a wet face and it massages in gently using my fingertips, without having to use too much product to cover my face. This step is perfect for finishing off cleansing as it leaves the skin feeling super soft and cleansed.
4. My step 4 is very easy. I just simply use a make up wipe to wash away any product or make up that may be left one my face. (There shouldn't be any!) But just in case. I like using make up wipes that are very wet. I have fell in love with the Johnsons Face Care Wipes they come in a range of wipes for different types of skin and my favourites are definitely the 'moisturising' and 'refreshing', these are both very wet wipes that leave the skin feeling wet but dry beautifully. This is refreshing step for the morning leaving your skin feeling more awake and fresh faced. Perfect for dry skin at the end of a long day wearing make up or at night after this routine.
5. My final step is my cream moisturiser. I tend to use very rich moisturisers in the winter. I find that the Simple Kind to Skin Replenishing Rich Moisturiser is a formula that is perfect if you don't want that greasy finish to your skin. The formula is very light and hydrating and leaves a matte finish on the skin, however much product your place. This moisturiser gets into the skin leaving it feel plump and full and it is very illuminating whilst reducing redness.
That is the end of my winter skin care routine and it's definitely working for me, so why don't you give it a go, or let me know what your favourite skin care products are for the colder months?

Revolution Ultra Professional Contour Palette

10/25/2015

Revolution Ultra Professional Contour Palette

To start off with I can honestly say this is the best contour palette I've tried, without having to spend a lot of money. Since I decided to purchase this I've had a lot of fun testing out which shape is best for me to sculpt and define my face. This palette contains the perfect shades, both for a subtle contour during the day and for the more defined, night, glamorous stand out contour. The palette is priced at £8.

Ok so lets have a look at the palette, It contains, 3 contour shades, 3 lighter highlight shades and 2 baked illuminating highlighters which gives you a beautiful glow. Looking closer at the colours of these powders. The highlight powders consist of (starting from top row left to right) one that's a creamy pink, one that's a banana, yellow colour and the other a lighter nude/gold, this pan has a slight shimmer to use as a subtle highlight, however the other 2 are matte powders.

The 3 contour shades (bottom row starting from left to right), the first contour colour is a pinky bronze colour, the next is a light camel nude colour and the last colour is a deep baked bronzed colour. all of which are matte.

The 2 baked illuminating highlighters on the right hand side of the photo are beautifully pigmented and consist of (top right) a silver/white glitter with gold veins running through it to give it that golden glow. The second illuminating highlighter (bottom right) is a champagne gold to give that very bronzed highlight.

The highlight and contour colours are a very creamy texture. If you are a fan of powder contouring but not so it looks caky then you'll love the texture of these powders. As the palette has such a range in between the shades, there is a shade for everyone, whether you are more tanned or on the slightly paler side.

I found that mixing the 2nd and 3rd of the contour colours worked best for me and using the highlighter in the bottom row gave me that ultimate glow. Here are some pictures of the finished make-up look.

As you can see the highlight is very illuminating, compared to other highlighters I have used I'd definitely say that this one completed my make up look nicely. The contour shades blend so easily into any foundation or base because of the creamy texture. This is such a bargain at £8.

Tell me your experience if you have purchased this palette or let me know of other contour palettes you have tried that you have enjoyed?

Balmain x H&M Collection

10/22/2015

So I've been so excited to hear that the Balmain x H&M collaboration is near enough 2 weeks away from going into our h&m stores!  (November 5th) With an average price list that has come out today for the collection. It's definitely going to be a splurge if your looking to get some of the statement items. H&M have said that you are going to be looking at £399 for one of Balmains most expensive embellished dresses. But don't worry they aren't all at that price range! However most of the dresses will be priced over £100. I'm happy that they have marked their T-Shirts, Blouses, Trousers and skirts at the £50 mark.

This is the £399 dress shown on Gigi Hadid, which is such a gorgeous piece. If you were keen on Taylor Swifts recent look at the Billboard Music Awards 2015, this piece will also be for sale in the collection.

Taylor Swift in Balmain at the Billboard Music AwardsGigi Hadid

The main thing I personally love about this collection created by Olivier Rousteing, is the amount of gorgeous gold pieces & jewels used to make every item pop. When you look at some of the pieces you definitely will be thinking, when on earth am I ever going to get to wear something so glam and out there!? These pieces are definitely very signature to the true Balmain design. Olivier has been very clever with who has he picked to be modelling and showing off the brand. With the likes of Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid being the main faces for the collection, this is definitely going to be something popular flying all over social media. I believe there are also some VS models in the mixture too, loving his designs.

They also have a set of beautiful caged heels to show off too, these are so gorgeous but I don't even want to know the price! Here are some of my personal favourite pieces.

If you want to have a look at the collection they have created a Lookbook page for you to see all the pieces worn in different ways! I adore the use of black and gold so much.

Have a look at the collection on line and let me know what your favourite piece is!

Looking After Your Skin & Different Types of Skin

10/15/2015

Having a skin routine

It can sometimes sound like a chore when it comes to finding a skin care routine that works for you. I for one can definitely not stick to the same routine. Of course I have my favourites that I will use religiously, simply because I believe they work well for me. I believe once you begin having a skin regime you won't be able to go without it. Especially if your finding it's showing results. Its considered to keep a daily up keep of your routine to maintain best results for you.

For me, the best time to do my skin care routines is in the morning, when I wake up, after I shower, and before I go to bed. I have 2 different routines for the morning and the evening. My evening one is definitely more important to me. I think that it's nice to leave your skin to work its magic overnight. I like using water based products. For example, I will use a micellar water instead of a make up wipe as I believe this is kinder for the skin. I will also use a toner. I love tea tree oil based toners as this really feels like its working to clear my skin. I will use this in the evening. In the morning I would use more of a refreshing, replenishing skin toner to wake my skin up for a fresh day look and normally just moisturiser as a base before I prime my face. One main important thing I love doing before I go to bed is using my Olay Pro X brush with my Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2 in 1 face wash and mask. I like to apply it as a mask and leave it on for 5 minutes, this reduces redness and gets working on my pores. Then I like to use my Olay brush to massage the product in, working as a face wash to thoroughly moisturise and then rinse, this makes my skin feel silky smooth and fresh. This routine works perfect for me.  I will go ahead and use other products I feel I need to improve my skin at the time. E.g., spot control cream or a rich moisturiser if I am feeling dry. I also have a tea tree oil face wash I use instead of the Neutrogena just in case my skins has break outs.

'Its so important to focus and look after yourself'
I believe its so important to understand the type of skin that you have and how you should be treating it on a daily basis. Choosing the best skin care for your face and body is essential in your skins health and just looking after yourself during your ageing process! There are 5 different types of skin these are: dry, normal, combination, sensitive and oily.
If you have normal skin, this means there is no trace of oil in your skin, your skin appears and feels soft and smooth and stays hydrated enough for an even skin tone.
If you have oily skin this means that you'll have certain places on your face, mainly forehead, chin and nose that'll produce more oil than necessary throughout the day. If you do have oily skin its very important to make sure you have a good cleansers to wash away the oil left on your face during the day.
If you have dry skin it means that your skin isn't producing enough oils to keep it soft and smooth. The skin can be flaky and feel tight throughout the day. Its important to find moisturisers that are rich and soak into the skin properly to give it a deep but gentle cleanse.
If you have combination skin this means that you will have dry spots and oily spots. The oily spots normally form around your t-zone section. The dry bits can form around your mouth, cheeks and eye areas can get quite dry as well. Its good to make sure that you buy the right products for combination skin as you could risk using the wrong product and making your skin either more oily or to dry. You can get combination skin make up wipes which will focus on the right areas of your face and protect them against dry and oily skin.
Having sensitive skin is different for different people. It could mean that you have sensitive skin due to a skin condition like eczema or your skin can become easily irritated. There are so many masks and skin care products that specialise for sensitive skin. Treating your skin gently is very important and making sure your not scrubbing or using harsh exfoliators.
I hope this has been helpful and encourages people to want to take care of their skin! There are so many products you can purchase under £5 that are brilliant! So keep an eye out and try some!

Help to get that flawless foundation look - Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

10/14/2015

When it came to deciding how to apply my foundation, I admittedly always used to use my fingers..I know so yuk!! But that was years ago...I started off with a foundation brush but realised it was never flawless for me and always clung to my dry patches too much and I could never even it out or blend it properly. So, you can imagine when I found this beauty in my local boots I had to try it. I couldn't believe it was only £5.99 compared to the prices of some of the popular beauty blenders this was really good. What I find useful about this particular sponge is that it comes with 3 different sides giving you all the options of applying without all the different brushes! These 3 sides, I've labeled on the top pic:

  • The flat edge - this is the side I use most for under my eyes, my cheek area and my forehead
  • The precision point - this I mainly use if I need to touch up during the day but it's very good to use when covering up anything you want to dissapear!
  • The rounded sides - this is the main bit of the sponge to blend out on larger areas of your face.
For best results with this sponge definitely use it damp, if it's too dry, it's hard to blend out and make use of the foundation that you have. So soak the sponge and squeeze out all the excess till damp then apply. The sponge will grow in size and then you can spread a small bit of foundation a long way, it also makes your foundation routine so much quicker!

I like to have a full coverage and I have used this beauty sponge with about 3/4 foundations and it definitely allows me to build up to a full coverage without going patchy or look like I've put to much on!

This will definitely be my go to on how to put my foundation on, I am yet to try a beauty blender of any type, so if you already have please comment below if you'd think I'd like the beauty blender, I'd love to try it!

Thanks again for reading!

Mac Lipstick Favourites

10/12/2015

The reason I am going to be talking about these 2 particular lipsticks is because I re-purchase them as soon as I run out, so they're definitely products that I want to share with you guys as I'm absolutely in love with them and they're 100% always in my daily make-up routines. I would NEVER post about something I didn't love as I want you guys to be aware of the best!
The first lipsticks of the 2 is from the MAC Matte collection as this is in the colour Honey Love. This lipstick is definitely one of those perfect pink nudes. The colour I would say is more of a lighter, paler nude but perfect with a gloss or on its own. I use this colour for a day make-up look and definitely can be worn as a night look too. This lipstick as shown in its name has a matte finish I personally like to wear mine with a balm underneath to give it a shine or a clear lip gloss on top for more of a shimmer. This lipstick is wearable for dark and pale skin although I think as it's quite pale it looks better on the light/medium skin tone depending on your desired look.

Here is MAC Honey Love:

The Second holy grail lipstick of mine is the Velvet Teddy Matte Mac Lipstick.  The velvet teddy lipstick is the most popular of the Mac lipstick collection. I would say that this lipstick is more of a mauve nude a lot deeper in colour than honey love. This lipstick goes very well with the spice mac lip liner which is my favourite pair as they work so well together. The velvet teddy is a matte finish lipstick I think this is definitely worn best without a shiny finish. I have re bought this lipstick without question about 5 times now and is definitely a must have in a make up collection. It goes with almost everything as it is the ideal nude, not too pink, not to pale and definitely not to brown. I think this is good for every skin tone, however I do think that it could wash out some paler skin tones. It creates a warmer finish to your make up look and definitely lasts for a long time, along with all the Mac lipsticks.

Here is Velvet Teddy:

Here are some swatches to show you the comparison in colours between the two:

Top is Honey Love and Bottom is Velvet Teddy.

Both of these lipstick are priced at £15.50.

Beauty review: Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation NC44

I have always had trouble finding a shade with Mac. After going into Mac and getting my colour matched I found that it was never the perfect match compared to the other foundations I have used. However, I found that I 100% needed a yellow undertone to my foundation due to my skin tone being an olive tone and I also fake tan as well. So I found that the NC44 was my ideal!

I found this foundation has the perfect consistency without being too runny or too thick. It dries really well too. I apply mine with a beauty blender and this gives me a medium/full coverage depending on what look I want to have. I would say that when buying this foundation it's best to buy the Mac foundation pump with it too, it gives the perfect amount with one pump for one area of skin and saves you a lot of foundation!

I have combination skin at the minute and I'd say that I don't find that this foundation clings onto my dry bits as much as others, but can go oily on my t-zone a bit throughout the day, but nothing I can't fix with a bit of powder for a nice finish! Overall this foundation is definitely perfect for everyday wear and therefore very practical!

Hope you enjoyed reading this review!
